Great hotel in a good location

Situated about 1k from the old town getting to the sights is simple with a gentle downhill stroll or local busses available, the bus transport is free with the Dubrovnik pass. The hotel is very well kept we had a superior sea view room with a large balcony that got the morning sun and was well sheltered from any wind. The A/C was efficient and quiet and the large bed super comfy. The shower had the biggest head I had ever seen and had plenty of water pressure to give you a good soak. All the staff spoke excellent English and were very friendly and always happy to help. A large breakfast buffet had a wide variety food to suit all nationalities although I do need to ask for milk for my cereal. Drinks prices were not outrageous considering this is a 5 star hotel, similar to a good wine bar in the UK, €10 for a house while and €12.5 for a house red both excellent wines. The free pool tables provided some evening amusement and the piano player in the lobby bar set a lovely mood. All in all great value for money.

One of a kind

All i can say is wow. The hotel is just amazing with fantastic views all around the food in the hotel is such high quality I cant fault anything they do. The staff are on point all the time, so kind and patient and always make you feel at home and to make sure they give you the best experience possible. I know that you are currently going through refurbishment at the moment and people would think that its an issue but not for us we understand that this needs to be done to keep the hotel up to shape and for the safety for the guests. One more things we have been so so many countries stayed in so many places and had lovely staff but the staff you have here should be proud of what they are doing because you have an amazing team running this hotel dont change anyone because they are all just fantastic.

Perfect

During our visit to Dubrovnik, we decided to stay at the Rixos Hotel. Even though we are from Dalmatia and often travel around the Mediterranean, we were extremely satisfied with the hotel. I will start the review with the first and most important thing – the staff of this hotel, who are truly world-class. We have experienced many places, but the kindness, dedication, and love for their work shown by all the young people working there made our stay pleasant and wonderful. There is really nothing more to add except that we will definitely visit the hotel again at the first opportunity, so we can once again enjoy the view, relaxation, and comfort that this hotel provides.

Incredible food, spa and views

Beautiful hotel, wonderful staff, gorgeous food, lovely views! We had a superior sea view room on half board for 5n - we should have been in Dubai but had to change at very short notice so we were feeling a bit flat, but this place really cheered us up! Best parts - being looked after by Nejra from Guest Services! We got engaged during our holiday and she arranged prosecco, sweet treats and the most stunning swans in towel art that we'd even seen! The breakfasts and evening meals were top quality, absolutely gorgeous food, and the views from the terrace at breakfast over the bay, with a glass of free prosecco! felt very 5* indeed. The 15 min walk into the old town was v easy and pretty, but there's an bus if you prefer. The spa is amazing, included in your room price - steam, sauna, plunge pools, even an igloo room with cold mist! Staff v welcoming and never pressured us to spend on a treatment (price list was exorbitant!!) Only downsides - outdoor pool wasn't open yet, and the indoor pool usually had kiddies in, so we tended to sunbathe on the rocks, but no cushions yet so felt a bit like camping... given the lovely weather, we'd have preferred some help to be comfortable outside. We did ask, but were told it was the indoor pool or nothing. Also the wine list was just WAY too pricey - we asked about that and the amazing Nejra saved the day again by discovering we were allowed to pay corkage on bringing local wine in, which transformed our evenings into long lovely feasts, thank you! This hotel will have a special place in our hearts and I hope we can return one day!

Pratap is the definition of welcoming

The Rixos is currently undergoing renovations and it is needed to update, but the hotel has great foundations and is still definitely lethal a stay. The live show cooking at UMI Teppanyaki was such a great experience that was made by experienced chef Pratap. Easy walking distance to the old town. Would stay here again! Thanks Pratap!!!
