When is the best time to visit Split?

• May, June and September are the sweet spot — warm sea (20–25 °C), long days, and the islands are calm and uncrowded for boat days.
• July and August are peak: vibrant nightlife on the Riva and consistent flat-water conditions for island-hopping, but Diocletian's Palace gets busy from late morning. Early-morning private tours and afternoon swimming stops on the Pakleni Islands work best.
• October is excellent for shoulder-season luxury: harvest season on Brač and Hvar, fewer guests in the best villas, and the Adriatic still warm enough for sailing.
• November to April is quiet, ideal for cultural city breaks, gastronomy weekends and indoor wellness stays.

Where should I stay in Split?

The choice depends on what you want from the trip:

• Diocletian's Palace and Old Town — for the romance of waking up inside a Roman emperor's residence; boutique apartments and small luxury hotels, walking access only.
• Marjan and Meje — quiet residential streets on the wooded Marjan peninsula, with sea-view villas and easy walks to swimming coves; the easiest base for couples and families who want calm.
• Bačvice and Firule — beachfront 4–5★ hotels a short walk from the Old Town, with pools and direct access to Split's main city beach.
• Trogir — UNESCO-listed island town 25 minutes from the airport, with intimate boutique stays and a slower pace.
• Private villas on Brač, Šolta or Čiovo — for groups of 6+ who want a private pool, dedicated host and full meal service, all within a short transfer of Split.

How do tailor-made holidays compare to booking everything separately?

A tailor-made itinerary typically costs the same as the sum of its parts, sometimes less, because we hold direct contracts with local skippers, yacht crews, drivers and villa managers — there is no third-party markup. The difference is in coordination: airport pickup at Split or Trogir, ferry alternatives, restaurant reservations on the islands, weather contingency for boat days, last-minute changes — all handled by one team on the ground. Most of our travellers come back for a second trip and ask for the same planner.

How far in advance should I book?

For May–October travel, six months of lead time is comfortable — the best villas, the most sought-after crewed yachts and the top-rated captains book out by early spring. For shoulder season and city breaks, 4–6 weeks is usually fine. We do accept short-lead requests (under two weeks) but availability narrows fast, especially for full-week crewed charters and peak-summer villa weeks.
