About This Activity

The Best Full-Day Boat Tour in Dubrovnik Croatia

Consistently ranked among the top things to do in Dubrovnik Croatia — and one of the best Dubrovnik excursions for anyone who wants to see the islands in full.

Eight hours. Three islands. Sea caves, a legendary hidden bay, an unspoiled island village, and a sustainable beach restaurant at the edge of the Adriatic. This extended private tour is designed for those who want to experience every highlight of the Dubrovnik coast without compromise.

Your Full-Day Itinerary

Morning

  • Depart Dubrovnik and head to the Blue and Green Caves before the day-trip crowd arrives — your skipper times the departure to hit the caves at their best light and their quietest
  • Swimming and snorkelling at secluded coves your skipper has been visiting for years

Midday

  • Explore Marculeti Bay — a sheltered turquoise gem between cliffs, known to very few tourists
  • Lunch at Konoba Kod Marka on Šipanska Luka, or at Bowa in Vrbova Bay — a boat-only sustainable beach restaurant by the Šare family (four generations of Mali Ston fishermen), where fresh Adriatic tuna, swordfish, and island-grown vegetables arrive on a private beach under carob trees. Phones discouraged. Long lunches encouraged.

Afternoon

  • Explore Šipan — the largest Elafiti Island, authentically local, with Gothic-Renaissance palaces and a rector's villa at Suđurađ
  • Return cruise along the Dubrovnik Riviera as the light turns golden

Islands with a Story

The Elafiti Islands are not just beautiful — they carry centuries of Ragusan history. Koločep, the smallest, hides Roman-era cemeteries and a medieval church of All Hallows among its olive groves. Lopud's 15th-century Franciscan monastery stands in extraordinary condition, its Gothic cloister draped in orange trees; Ragusan noble summer villas line the waterfront. Šipan, the largest and most local, holds Gothic-Renaissance palaces built by Dubrovnik's ruling families, and a rector's villa at Suđurađ that is one of the finest pieces of rural Renaissance architecture on the Dalmatian coast.

The Boat & Crew

Our private luxury speedboats are well-maintained, clean, and fully equipped: quality snorkelling gear, paddleboard, refreshment cooler, sun cushions. Entirely private — no strangers, no fixed route, no group schedule.

Your skipper is a local professional who has spent years on these waters. They know which cave entrance to take for the best light, which cove has the most interesting snorkelling this week, and which island restaurant to call ahead for a table on the terrace. The day is planned around you.

What Guests Say

"Absolutely incredible experience — we could choose where we wanted to go. 10/10 customer service! The lunch location was absolutely stunning and the food amazing."

"Our skipper took us to places I've never seen in any guidebook. The extended tour is worth every minute — we had the Blue Cave, a hidden bay, Šipan, and an extraordinary lunch. Best day in Croatia."

Why This Tops the Rest

Guests who take the extended tour consistently say the same thing: they didn't realise how much was possible until they had a full day with a private, knowledgeable crew. No shared deck. No rushing. The whole Adriatic at your pace.

Itinerary

Extended Elafiti boat tour (Caves, Marculeti, Sipan, Bowa) - Skip the crowd — Strapi Highlights

Imported itinerary generated from Strapi content. Review and enrich before publishing.

  1. Step 1

    Hotel pickup

    ⏱ 1 hour

Meet with our agent at your hotel. Your driver will pick you up promptly at our hotel and take you to the boat dock, where you will meet your captain. The captain will provide a safety briefing and then take you on a scenic tour of the itinerary waterways, pointing out interesting landmarks along the way.

  2. Step 2

    - Elaphiti Islands & Blue Cave Island Kolocep

    ⏱ 1 hour

Are an archipelago of several islands near Dubrovnik. The clear blue waters and vibrant marine life made for an unforgettable snorkeling experience. The famous Blue Cave on Kolocep Island will be our first destination. This cave is well-known for its brilliant blue hue, which is caused by the way the sunlight naturally hits the cave.

  3. Step 3

    - Marculeti Bay

    ⏱ 1 hour

Our next destination will be Marculeti, which is known for its magnificent sandy beach. You can swim, snorkel, and relax at this location. The crystal clear seas and abundant marine life made for a once-in-a-lifetime experience for anyone who went snorkeling there. Because this bay is difficult to access by land transportation, you can be certain that there will be no crowd here.

You will have a lot more solitude on the bay Marculeti, which is characterized by its pristine lagoons and its unspoiled natural surroundings, such as the bay's pristine lagoons and its pristine natural surroundings.

You may go snorkeling there, and if you want to take things to the next level, you may rent a marine scooter and take it from Dubrovnik with you. The incomparable natural splendor of this region is certain to leave a lasting impression on you. Our tour focuses on remote areas that are visited by a very small number of people, yet it is so genuine that it is difficult to imagine a more interesting approach to learning about the Adriatic coast.

  4. Step 4

    - Kobas bay

    ⏱ 1 hour

Following our time in Marculeti, we will make our way towards Sipan, making a stop at Bocca di Pompeo (also known as Pompeii's Straight) on the way there. Here is the location where the legendary hero of Pompeii evaded capture by the fleet of Octavian. It’s not only an adventure on the sea, but also a gastronomical experience because you can choose to visit Kobas bay,  Food, wine, and people, are all local!

Due to the fact that Kobas is not easily accessible by automobile or any other form of land transportation, this bay is considered a haven for sailors and yachters. It may be a quaint little town, but its cuisine is among the most unique you'll find anywhere along the coast. You will have the chance to sample meals that were created by a local chef while he describes the steps that went into creating the food that you will be eating at that time. There are three restaurants in the area that are really hidden treasures. The proprietors create their own olive oil, and they serve fish that they themselves have caught and prepared. Almost everything there is either cultivated or produced from scratch by the proprietors. This is traditional Dalmatian food with a contemporary spin, and the chefs who will teach you their techniques have more than four decades of experience in the kitchen between them! From the amuse-bouche until the dessert, all of it followed by excellent wines from the region.

The little settlement of Koba may be found in the Channel of Ston and is roughly 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) away from the Vratnik Passage on the Croatian mainland. There are no contemporary marinas or large, magnificent waterfronts to be found in this area. Just traditional restaurants in the konoba style, with sailing ships, moored stern-to on wooden piers that were almost certainly handcrafted.

  5. Step 5

    - Island Sipan - Bowa restaurant

    ⏱ 1 hour

Once arriving at our next and final stop on the western side of Sipan Island, you will visit the beautiful bay and village of Luka Sipanjska (Port of Sipan) before heading back to Dubrovnik. Or you can choose to arrive at the Bowa restaurant in style on restaurant seating at 3:00 PM.

  6. Step 6

    6:30 PM

    ⏱ 1 hour

    Return to your hotel/accommodation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What places will we visit ?

This private boat trip takes place in the area of the Elafite Islands, you can visit three islands, Kolocep, Lopud and Sipan, inhabited by beautiful small towns. The islands are full of beautiful architecture, created 500 or more years ago in the best possible positions in harmony with nature. Small towns were mostly created as fishing and maritime towns, while today they are attractive tourist destinations with excellent tourist offers, as well as an offer of local products, restaurants, and souvenir shops.

Could you provide more details about Elaphite islands and their significance or features?

Fast forward to the present day, and it is remarkable to see how the allure of the Elaphiti Islands has endured through the centuries. Even now, hundreds of years later, a journey to these picturesque islands remains one of the most delightful ways to find solace and respite from the crowds of tourists that populate the city.

Just as the noble families of yore sought the calming embrace of the islands, modern visitors continue to discover that these enchanting locales provide the perfect backdrop for relaxation and a refreshing city break. The timeless charm of the Elaphiti Islands invites all who visit to experience the same tranquility and beauty that once captivated the hearts of Dubrovnik's elite. In a time long past, during the illustrious era of the Dubrovnik Republic, it was a common practice for the noble families residing in the bustling Old Town to seek refuge from the vibrant summer crowds.

These families would often embark on tranquil retreats to the nearby Elaphiti Islands, where they could immerse themselves in the serene beauty of nature and enjoy a respite from the hustle and bustle of urban life. The islands offered an idyllic escape, allowing them to unwind and rejuvenate in peace. While the Elafiti archipelago is home to over twelve small islets scattered across the shimmering Adriatic Sea, the 3 islands tour specifically focuses on the three largest islands that are still inhabited and located near the historic city of Dubrovnik.

These islands, each with their own unique charm and character, offer visitors a chance to explore vibrant local culture, stunning natural landscapes, and rich history. Rather than visiting all the tiny islets, this tour allows you to immerse yourself in the vibrant life and breathtaking scenery of the more substantial islands in the archipelago, making it an unforgettable experience for anyone looking to truly appreciate this enchanting region's beauty.

Private boat tours versions and combinations

Exciting boat tours of Dubrovnik come in a variety of versions, from which travelers can pick the one that best suits their preferences. If you are a fan of the television series Game of Thrones, you might want to take a combination cruise and walking tour to the filming locations in order to fully submerge yourself in the fictional world of the Game of Thrones. Meanwhile, full-day or half-day cruises onboard private boats to the green-covered Elafiti Islands, which include trips ashore to explore seaside scenery and picturesque villages, are available for those who are interested in catering to the needs of nature enthusiasts. This beautiful collection of islands can also be explored on a private boat excursion that lasts for four, six, or eight hours.

Private boat tours to islands further away from Elafiti (Mljet, Korcula, Hvar, Vis) last a minimum of 8 hours, full-day option.

What is the price on this boat trip and do you need to prebook

Prices you can view under the options tab. You can choose to reserve now and pay later for this tour.

What is a difference between your boat classes (medium, high, executive, luxury)

At first, the difference is in the size of the boat, which represents how many people feel comfortable on such a boat to enjoy the sea. Then, if you are not already familiar, the ships have different equipment and designs.

Most medium-class boats are with outboard motors up to 6.5 meters long. Then come high-class boats with inboard engines, which is not necessarily the case.
The biggest difference between medium and high-class boats is in the equipment and design. The high-class speedboat is mostly sporty and recommended for up to 4 people, while the medium class is recommended for 2 people.

Executive boats are 8-9 meters in size, newer years with outboard or inboard engines, but all have toilets. In the Executive class of boats, we are talking about luxury speedboats of recent years with a lot of equipment and an attractive appearance.

Motor yachts are 9 - 11 meters long, with a saloon, flybridge, kitchen, and stern for swimming. Executive motor yachts are 11 - 14 meters long, but more recently built.

Luxury yachts are a story by themselves, this is really about great luxury for people who demand such a service.

If you are not sure what kind of boat you want, consider that the captain of the boat is responsible for providing you with the best possible service. All our captains are professionals and will do everything for you to have a great time.
