Kotor Speedboat Escape — Full-Day Private Tour
Indulge in a full-day private speedboat escape from Kotor. Explore Boka Bay's hidden gems at your own pace, with scenic…
The most scenic route between Dubrovnik and Hvar isn't on a ferry — it's aboard a private speedboat or luxury yacht, a swim stop at a hidden cove, and the freedom to take as long as you want.
Searching for the best things to do in Hvar Croatia, the most scenic Hvar boat tour, or the top day trip from Dubrovnik? The Dubrovnik–Hvar private speedboat experience answers all three. It's consistently rated the most scenic route on the Dalmatian coast — faster, more personal, and infinitely more flexible than the public ferry.
Why transfer when you can adventure? The four-hour ferry becomes a private speedboat voyage — stopping at whichever islands catch your eye, swimming in coves you'll never find in a guidebook, and arriving on Hvar feeling like you've already lived the best day of your trip.
Your private skipper departs Dubrovnik Old Port and heads northwest along the Dalmatian coast. The direct route takes approximately 3.5 hours. But the private boat gives you options:
Swim stop — anchor at a secluded cove in the Pelješac channel or near Korčula
Lunch on Korčula — detour to one of Croatia's most beautiful old towns
Island Scedro close to Hvar — arrive early and explore the Island Scedro — turquoise lagoons, pine-shaded bays, and boat-only coves just 45 minutes from Hvar Old Port
Adjust for time and energy — your skipper adapts the pace to your group
For travellers searching hvar boat tours or things to do in Hvar Croatia, a private boat from Dubrovnik stands apart from every other option. The ferry is affordable — but it's also slow, crowded, and delivers you at a terminal far from the old town. A private speedboat arrives directly at Hvar Old Port, with swim stops and optional detours on the way.
This is also the most popular choice among guests who ask: "What are the best things to do in Hvar?" The boat itself becomes part of the experience.
Hvar Town is often celebrated for its yacht-side glamour. Look past the Riva and you'll find one of the oldest continuously inhabited places on the Croatian coast. The Cathedral of St. Stephen fronts the largest town square in Croatia — an open stone piazza laid out in the 16th century under Venetian rule. Hvar's Renaissance theatre (1612) is one of the oldest public theatres in Europe, built inside the old Venetian Arsenal that once serviced war galleys. The Fortress (Španjola, 16th century) rewards the 15-minute climb with the finest panorama in the Adriatic: Hvar Town below, the Pakleni Islands scattered across the channel, the mainland mountains in the distance.
Boats from our fleet are comfortable and well-equipped for the 3–4 hour crossing: sun cushions, refreshment cooler, quality snorkelling gear. The boat is entirely private — no shared deck, no fixed timetable. Your skipper is a local professional with expertise across these waters, attentive and completely flexible to your preferences.
"We chose private over the ferry and it was the best travel decision of our trip. Our skipper stopped for a 45-minute swim at the most beautiful cove I've ever been in, and we still arrived in Hvar in time for lunch. Perfect service."
"Professional crew, beautiful boat, and a complete willingness to adapt the route. We asked to stop at Korčula for an hour — done. This is how you travel between Croatian islands."
Guests who make this journey by private boat consistently say the same thing: the transfer was the highlight, not the destination. A professional crew focused entirely on your group, beautiful water, the freedom to stop anywhere — this is Croatia's most scenic route done properly.
Arriving by private speedboat directly at Hvar Old Port gives you more time for the best Hvar attractions:
Fortica fortress (Španjola) — the 16th-century citadel above the town, reached in 20 minutes on foot, with a panoramic view over the Pakleni Islands archipelago
Pakleni Islands — take a water taxi or kayak from the port to reach these pine-covered islands with turquoise lagoons; the most popular short boat trip in Hvar Croatia
Hvar Town square — the largest piazza in Croatia, lined with Renaissance palaces; the Cathedral of St. Stephen anchors the western end
Renaissance Arsenal & Theatre — one of the oldest public theatres in Europe (1612), still hosting performances today
Stari Grad — a 20-minute bus ride; UNESCO-listed Greek agricultural landscape (Hora) dating to 384 BC
Among all things to do in Hvar Croatia, the combination of Pakleni Islands by boat + Fortica fortress on foot + Old Town square consistently rates as the most complete half-day.

Great time
We had an amazing time with Frano! He tailored the trip to what we wanted (more relaxed, hanging at the boat and swimming) and took us to amazing local spots including a water front lunch. It was the highlight of our time in Dubrovnik! Thank you Frano!

Beautiful day out on the water!
We had a fantastic day on the boat with Frano during our transfer from Hvar to Dubrovnik. Frano designed a lovely itinerary and took care of all transportation from pick up at our hotel in Hvar to drop off in Dubrovnik. He arranged for a guide to meet us during our stop in Korcula where we enjoyed learning the history of this island. We had a beautiful stop to swim and then on to a fantastic lunch and more swimming. This was truly one of the highlights of our trip. Thank you Frano, we will be back and hope to see you again soon!

Private transfer to Hvar
Excellent service! Frano was extremely helpful and considerate of our needs. Our skipper was excellent as well. Frano went an extra step to retrieve a lost camera for us and send it to me via ferry. Would definitely recommend.

Best boat experience!
This was the perfect way for us to get from Hvar back to Dubrovnik! We got to stop at several islands along the way down and get out and explore, go to secret swimming spots and Frano was great at letting us choose what worked best for us. The whole experience was worth it and would recommend this over a car ride or ferry for sure!!

This is a sampe itinerary starting from Dubrovnik. Please note that this service can be arranged also from Hvar to Dubrovnik.
Note: This itinerary is a suggestion and can be fully customized to your group's desires and the prevailing weather conditions. Discuss your preferences with the boat charter company in advance to create the perfect itinerary for your Dubrovnik to Hvar luxury boat transfer.
Your driver picks you up from your hotel and transfers you to the departure port — Old Town City Port (Stara gradska luka) or Gruž Port depending on your vessel and hotel. Board your private boat and get settled: sun cushions, refreshment cooler, and snorkelling gear are all ready aboard. Departure time is flexible, typically between 08:30 and 09:00 AM. The crew will run through the day's route options before casting off.

Approximately 30–40 minutes north-west of Dubrovnik, near Koločep island, your skipper drops anchor at Markuleti Bay — a sheltered cove with calm, crystal-clear water and a quieter atmosphere than the busier Elaphiti village stops. Cool off in the sea, enjoy the first drinks from the cooler, and settle into the Adriatic pace. This is the ideal introduction to the Dalmatian coast at its most unspoiled.

Swim stop in a sheltered bay
Sheltered Adriatic bay with a quieter, more private swim feel than the busier headline stops around Dubrovnik.
First swim stop of the day. Calm, clear water. Ideal for snorkelling.
Korčula Old Town is one of the Adriatic's most rewarding island stops — a compact medieval walled city with cathedral, Marco Polo heritage, and a lively waterfront market. Your skipper docks and gives the group time to walk the stone streets, visit the Cathedral of St. Mark, and browse the market stalls.
Lunch in Korčula (recommended): Ask your skipper for a current recommendation — waterfront konobas such as Konoba Maslina or Gradski Podrum are popular choices, or the skipper will know the best spot for the season.
Šćedro Island (time-permitting): If the Korčula stop wraps up within about an hour, your skipper can route via Šćedro — a quiet, pine-shaded island with turquoise lagoons just 45 minutes from Hvar. Šćedro is added when time and conditions allow, so let the skipper know early in the day if it is a priority.

It is much more than simple transport. This private Dubrovnik to Hvar boat tour can be planned as a scenic Adriatic journey, with time for swimming, relaxing, and enjoying the islands along the route instead of treating the crossing as a basic point-to-point transfer.
Yes. That is one of the main advantages of booking the service privately. Depending on sea conditions, total timing, and your preferred pace, the route can include stops around Korcula, Scedro, or secluded bays in the southern Adriatic archipelago for swimming, relaxing, and sightseeing.
The route covers roughly 100 nautical miles, so the price reflects long-distance vessel use, dedicated crew time, and substantial fuel consumption. Guests who choose this service usually do so for privacy, itinerary flexibility, and the chance to turn the crossing into a tailor-made day at sea rather than standard transport.
The places you visit depend on the specific private boat tour, yacht route, weather conditions and the time available on the water. Each product page lists its own suggested itinerary and main highlights.
For Dubrovnik private boat and yacht experiences, routes may include islands, secluded bays, swimming stops, coastal towns, caves, Boka Bay, Montenegro coastline or other points of interest depending on the selected tour. Final routing is agreed before departure and may be adjusted by the captain for safety and sea conditions.
Yes. Most private boat tours and yacht experiences can be customized within the confirmed duration of the tour. You can usually adjust the balance between sightseeing, panorama cruising, swimming, lunch, time ashore and direct transfer time.
The final route always depends on yacht availability, weather, sea conditions, port rules and, for cross-border routes such as Dubrovnik to Montenegro, border formalities.
Private boat tours from Dubrovnik can be arranged in different versions depending on the selected product, yacht or speedboat class, destination, duration and preferred pace. Some routes are focused on swimming and hidden bays, others on coastal sightseeing, island hopping, lunch stops, transfers or cross-border yacht routes such as Dubrovnik to Montenegro.
Combinations are possible when they fit safely within the confirmed tour duration. The final plan is agreed before departure and may be adjusted according to weather, sea conditions, port rules and captain recommendation.
Prices you can view under the options tab. You can choose to reserve now and pay later for this tour.
At first, the difference is in the size of the boat, which represents how many people feel comfortable on such a boat to enjoy the sea. Then, if you are not already familiar, the ships have different equipment and designs.
Most medium-class boats are with outboard motors up to 6.5 meters long. Then come high-class boats with inboard engines, which is not necessarily the case. The biggest difference between medium and high-class boats is in the equipment and design. The high-class speedboat is mostly sporty and recommended for up to 4 people, while the medium class is recommended for 2 people.
Executive boats are 8-9 meters in size, newer years with outboard or inboard engines, but all have toilets. In the Executive class of boats, we are talking about luxury speedboats of recent years with a lot of equipment and an attractive appearance.
Motor yachts are 9 - 11 meters long, with a saloon, flybridge, kitchen, and stern for swimming. Executive motor yachts are 11 - 14 meters long, but more recently built.
Luxury yachts are a story by themselves, this is really about great luxury for people who demand such a service.
If you are not sure what kind of boat you want, consider that the captain of the boat is responsible for providing you with the best possible service. All our captains are professionals and will do everything for you to have a great time.

In April / October / November boat tours really depends on the water conditions. In case the tour can't be done due to weather conditions we will always either issue a full refund or try to postpone the tour to the next day.
The price depends on the selected route, tour duration, boat or yacht class, group size, season, fuel requirements and any optional services such as lunch, transfers, guides or special arrangements.
Shorter Dubrovnik boat tours usually have a different price structure than full-day private yacht routes or cross-border experiences such as Dubrovnik to Montenegro. For tailor-made routes, we confirm the final price in the personalized offer before booking.
Both options are possible on most private boat and yacht tours. Some guests prefer a relaxed panorama cruise with swimming stops, while others want time ashore for sightseeing, lunch or a short walk in a coastal town.
Stops ashore depend on the selected destination, local docking options, weather, sea conditions and the total tour duration. The captain and operations team will help shape a realistic route for the time available.
All our boat tours are private, without joined travellers. We can accommodate the number of guests permitted by the specific boat's licence, so please tell us your group size and we will recommend the best option.
Please contact us with your preferences and group details. We can offer everything from sleek speedboats for cave hopping to large motor yachts with shaded cabins and spacious lounge decks, and we will help match you with the right boat.
If you are celebrating a special occasion, please let us know in advance. We can help arrange special touches on board such as balloons, candles, drinks, and other decorations to make the experience more personal.
