An extraordinary crossing — the Adriatic at its finest
My partner and I are experienced sailors and we know the Adriatic reasonably well. The private boat transfer from Hvar to Korčula introduced us to corners of these waters that we had never navigated ourselves — sea caves, a tiny monastery island, a cove with water so clear and shallow we could see individual pebbles ten metres below the surface. Our skipper was clearly an expert mariner with deep local knowledge, and his pride in his home waters was infectious. He matched our pace perfectly — unhurried, exploratory, genuinely curious. We arrived in Korčula in the late afternoon, walked the old town walls in the golden light, and felt very fortunate to have chosen this way of travelling.
