The perfect way to travel from Hvar to Korčula
We had been on Hvar for five days and were heading to Korčula to catch our flight home from Dubrovnik a few days later. Instead of the complicated ferry connection, we booked the private boat transfer and it transformed what could have been an exhausting travel day into a genuine highlight of the trip. Our skipper picked us up from the Hvar harbour with his cheerful assistant and we were underway within minutes. The crossing itself — through the Pakleni islands, east along the Pelješac channel, and then south to Marco Polo's birthplace — was magnificent. He stopped for lunch at a small fishing village on Pelješac where his cousin apparently runs a tiny restaurant, and the grilled fish was sensational. Korčula old town, approached from the sea, is every bit as dramatic as Dubrovnik. An extraordinary journey.
